Eighteen months today.
These past six months have passed much more quickly than last year. I have loved watching you grow into a thriving toddler. Every day I'm amazed at how fast you're growing, how much you've learned, the love and tenderness you show your family and puppy, the countless ways you make me belly laugh every day, how independent you're becoming, and how much I have learned from you.
People ask me how much I love motherhood and how much it has changed me. I can't put into words how happy I am to be your mom. After everything we went through to have you, i feel nothing but gratitude every day.
On Pinterest, I saw this quote (actually it's a bible verse) flying around, and it was one I often looked to for strength during my infertility days.
The pain you've been feeling can't compare to the joy that's coming.
This. All of it. The moment I found out I was pregnant with you, this verse came to mind. I think some of my darkest days - aside from losing my dad - were during my struggle with infertility, but the joy. Oh the joy that you bring to this earth surmounts all the pain to but a memory. All the hurt I felt over the three year journey is washed out by joy.
Happy eighteen months Atticus.
To celebrate we had a breakfast picnic and some playtime at McKinley Park. We arrived a little after 8 AM to beat the heat on this triple digit day. We packed some vegan mini frittatas, berries and chia pudding, bagels and kite hill almond cream cheese. He had so much fun playing on the playground after.
